| Professor Francesco Parisi is Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School and Distinguished Professor at the University of Bologna, Department of Sociology and Business Law. From 2002 to 2006, he held a Chair in Private Law at the University of Milan (Statale), where he was appointed as a Distinguished Professor (Professore Ordinario per Chiara Fama). From 1993 to 2006, he taught at George Mason University where he served as Professor of Law & Director of the Law and Economics Program and as an Associate Director of the J.M. Buchanan Center for Political Economy. In 2006, the University of Bologna appointed Dr. Parisi to the position of Distinguished Professor. From that time until 2022, he taught in the Department of Economics, and from 2022 to the present he has been teaching in the Department of Sociology and Business Law at the University of Bologna. Professor Parisi received his D.Jur. degree from the University of Rome La Sapienza, an LL.M. and a J.S.D. and an M.A. degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D in Economics from George Mason University. Professor Parisi has also taught at the University of California Law School and at the Center for Law Studies at Louisiana State University, and has repeatedly served as a visiting professor at leading universities worldwide.
