Dr. Max Gutbrod graduated from the University of Tubingen in 1985 (initial bar exam) and the University of Munich in 1990 (qualifying bar exam), where he earned a Dr.iur. degree in 1992. He was admitted to the bar in Berlin in 1990.

Currently, Dr. Gutbrod teaches at the University of Potsdam and is a member of its Academic Advisory Board.
