Results of the 2026 Digital Law Research Paper Competition

The DLJ editorial team is pleased to announce the results of the research paper competition on digital law. Following a double-blind peer review process and subsequent evaluation by the Competition's Academic Council, the top 5 manuscripts were selected from a total of 57 submissions.

The editorial team thanks all participants and is pleased to present the winners:

1st place — Konstantin Prud’ko (Alekseev Russian School of Private Law)

2nd place — Maksim Zaloilo (Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law)
"Crises of technogenic civilization and their role in the development of law: A retrospective analysis"

3rd place — Alexander Osokin (Lomonosov Moscow State University)
"Legal liability for AI-induced harm: Towards a conceptual model"

4th place — Alexander Neznamov (Yakovlev Ural State Law University) & Melnik Valeriya Dmitrievna (Russian Copper Company JSC)
"Regulating consumer disputes on marketplaces: A procedural perspective"

5th place — Oscar Cardozo (European University of Lisbon)
"Can the law still see? Opaque algorithms and the protection of fundamental rights"

All authors included in the shortlist are eligible to publish their manuscript in the journal. Winners ranking first through third additionally receive a monetary prize.
